Often Occurrence of Assumption

Disclamer: This is not directed to anyone, I just wanted to share what kind of assumptions people make that can be annoying.

Humans tend to assume very often, which can be very annoying. These people just jump to conclusions about someone according to what they hear or think. For example, when someone does not reply their message within a period of time, they are assumed to be uninterested in the conversation with him or her. That may not be the case ! He or she could be busy with something, his or her phone got confiscated, or her or she may be sleeping ! There are so many possibilities that could be occurring. Thus, do not assume. Yes, we do feel insecure when we are neglected. However, jumping to conclusions does not help at all.

Another common scenario is where people think that someone is the type of person others describe as. I believe that this occurs to may of us. Many times in our society, person A judges person B according to what he or she sees or according to gossip about them, without knowing them personally or witnessing their conflicts. Person A may also spread rumours about person B after a conflict with person B, causing people to dislike person B without knowing person B, or what really happened. Assuming that it is the truth, they spread it to other people.

" Ignorance is judging someone from the rumours that you hear and believe. Stupidity is spreading those rumours thinking you will come out the better person "

One has absolutely no rights to discriminate another just because others say that e or she is a bad person. Believing rumours and disliking them afterwards is a very childish and silly thing to do.

I won't deny that I did such things before, but that is when I was still very young and immature. Like around primary 6? However I am 16 now, I won't believe something easily until I am affected indirectly by the situation or until I witness the situation. I try my best to be neutral in all cases & consider other possibilities.
