Blog Post Dedication.
This blog post is more of a post dedicated to some people. The fact that I just joined Modern Dance only and they've been so friendly and helpful. They made this CCA feel like we are one big family. Honestly speaking, when I was still in Gu Zheng CCA, I dreaded every Tuesday and Thursday cause I have to attend this boring CCA after school again. It's quite a long story of my life in that CCA. I initially wanted to change to Modern Dance when I was Secondary 2, but my parents strongly disagreed. This year I explained in details about the CCA and persuaded them, I cleared my Dad's misunderstand of the CCA and YES I was allowed to join. Then the day of audition/ trial came. Ofcourse this is the very first time I participated in something that will determine if you're in or not.
PHEW, I was in :')
I was really happy. How can I not? When I first joined, I mostly only talked to my friends and those of my age. Slowly I interacted with some seniors and juniors then now, I talk to everyone. Every lesson I have, I'm always elated to go and if I was free, I would go earlier wayyyyy before the actual time. It's like it IS my second home, the place where you feel you should be, that sense of belonging. I didn't feel any stress when the thought that I have CCA that day came across my mind.
When we just joined, we were to learn and practice to perform for Chinese New Year. There were three different groups performing three different song. I was in the first song. Here's a video recordered by an audience. Sorry for the poor quality video.
After New Year performances, we had all our focus on SYF performance. At first we were okay with most things, we just had to clean up our steps and finish up learning the remaining choreography. But then at one point of time many things were changed and we had to clean up our new steps. Trainings were tough but worth it. We even had hardcore clean up days, one of it was at Scape and that day I thought I could have died out of exhaustion. LOL
While training, we bond. That's how I interacted with more seniors and realise how friendly they were. As a club, I feel that we understand each other's difficulty and overcome them together. All this made me love my cca wholeheartedly within just 3-4 months.
Now about the seniors taking 'O' & "N' Levels seniors.
Firstly, the most important person. Our chairperson, Nicole.
She's really admirable.
Our physical trainings are tough, even though her knee ( or something, I don't remember) was injured but she still pushed herself.
During rehearsals we had in school, sometimes we were tired and get frustrated very easily. I admit I do get annoyed when she said we need to do some parts again and again. (Sorry!) Some other dancers get very annoyed and start saying unpleasant stuff. Nicole wanted us to repeat as she wanted us to do it well, I understand. But yeah, exhausted people are easy to be ticked. There was once when the seniors were talking some things about her, and she happened to be walking closer to adjust the size of the stage with chairs. As she got closer a few juniors like me and others wondered off to refrain awkwardness... I think she heard what they said, I'm not sure, but after she was done and got back next to the speaker, she seem to be quieter. Even though I wasn't the one participating in the bad mouthing but I felt really bad. The next practice, she was her normal self already.
I really admire her, she is a strong girl. Despite stress from studies, being chair person of cca, having people bad mouth her, she still did not waver. I love her for that. I will really really miss her when she graduates.
[I also knew her way before I joined the cca. She sort of encouraged me to join when I was secondary 2 and I oftenly went into the studio before my cca starts.]
Next is our vice-chairperson, Benny.
Mmm I don't think I have a lot of impression of him? I rarely interact with him. During trainings, I realise he doesn't complains at all. I mean unlike us, he doesn't seem to comment much about repeating steps. He seems to be quite a fast learner, he pick up steps pretty fast. He also has a funny personality and always manage to make people laugh when he jokes. From what my junior said, he loves dancing. Well, That's a confirm yeah? He's patient with us. I asked around for their opinions of Benny, many included the part that he is cute. Well, many of us do agree on that. But he isn't a relationship kind of guy. Agreed.
Sorry Benny, I don't think I have anything more to elaborate on since we rarely interact and I don't know you well. I like the part where you have funny personality, cause you some times lighten the mood in the studio with your jokes.
Follow up is Jia Hui.
I knew her better as we had similar parts to dance together and we started talking cause we had to clarify some parts and practised together. We chat while taking a short break and stuff. Not as much to say too. But she is friendly and helpful. Understanding too. For the new year dance, at some parts I had difficulty to follow the beat but she was patient teaching me. Thanks senior !
For the SYF piece, she was really understanding and thus helpful. At one point I had to move backwards if not I would be near the end of stage, or worst falling off the stage. She always helped me to remind the rest of the people in the line to move back. She has a funny personality too.
Next is Zi Yi. She and Jia Hui are often together. I have very little to say too cause I don't really talk to her since we've not much to talk about.. But she is patient to teach too. She is quiet most of the times and really tall. I mean like, taller than most of us. Her height is totally suitable to be a model, adding the part that she is thin, perfectly thin. Not like me so thin, LOL. Sorry I have no idea what to say already><
Next two is Aini and Filzah. They're mostly seem together too. Both of them are really friendly and helpful. There was once I did a part of the new year Dance wrongly, Aini corrected me. One of our SYF trainings Filzah was asked to help us clean up one part. She was enthusiastic to do the steps. Aini helped on the cleaning up too. I have a fond memory of Filzah, on the day when we were lining up at backstage for SYF performance, I was really nervous. She tried to calm me down, encouraging me and telling me it'll be okay. I really want to Thank her for being so supportive. I believe she was at least sort if nervous for herself too.
Another senior guy is In Young. He's a Korean guy and when I first joined, he was sort of my motivation to persevere even if the physical training was hard and Dance training was tough. When I was secondary 2, I wasn't in Dance yet but he patiently taught me and my friend a choreography of the song Love High from Dream High Korean drama show. Yes I am a fan of Dream High so I was enthusiastic in learning. He was patient and friendly. Thanks for being supportive, patient and funny.
Follow up is Izzi. As Izzi sounds like Easy. We always trease him with the lyrics "easy come, easy go" of Grenade by Bruno Mars. He is really friendly, funny, and.... annoying at times. ~T_T~ He was patient when I asked him about some part I wasn't sure about. He is caring too. Lighten up the mood with his jokes sometimes too.
Lastly is Jia Hoon. She's kind, funny. And honestly really really quiet. Cause. I don't have much to say about you cause I don't know what to say. But thanks first being really patient and helpful when I did not know or want very Sure of the steps.
That's probably most of what I can say. Sorry for any English errors or parts you don't like. Will add in if I've more to say. I will definitely miss all of you ! It's sad that I only joined in this year....
